About

Space dominance is a strategic goal for many nations. The criticality of space assets has evolved in recent years to include not only governmental and defense services, but to provide commercial, economic and business value to numerous civilian sectors.

This evolution has created a duality of many space assets, serving both global and national civilian critical infrastructure, together with national defense and military capabilities.

Cybersecurity requirements for space assets, has been prominently amplified by military events in Europe and the emerging threats to civilian dual-use systems and services, such as communications, navigation (GNSS) and remote sensing. Disruptions, spoofing, hacking and denial-of-service are constantly on the rise. Interconnectivity between space systems, cloud infrastructure and non-terrestrial networks (NTN), creates further challenges to integrate cyber defenses into these new space ecosystems.

Cyber Week 2023 will dedicate a special session to the emerging global challenge of cybersecurity for space, and the Israeli experience.

The session will be co-hosted by Israel’s National Cyber Directorate (INCD) with experts from industry, academia and government.
