Tim Dawson is the global head of Cybersecurity Technology for HSBC. In this role, he provides long-term planning and technical leadership for all Cybersecurity disciplines to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and other key stakeholders throughout the various lines of business. His team is primarily responsible for all Cybersecurity innovation and change the bank activities along with a focus on investing in strategic early stage security companies.

Prior to joining HSBC in 2016, Dawson led Cyber Technology at JP Morgan Chase and was responsible for transforming the organization into one of the most forward thinking and technical savvy financials in respect to Cybersecurity. He also led a number of incubations, early stage investments and presented awards to companies including Splunk (IPO 2012), Fireye (IPO 2013), Tanium and Menlo Security.

He has held various other leadership positions across multiple organizations, including the head of Security Operations and Security Engineering and has over 20 years of experience within IT and Cybersecurity.
