Professor Srikanthan joined Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 1991. He has recently completed 6 full years as the Head of the School of Computer Engineering (SCE) which has 1800 students (UG and MSc), 80 faculty, 60 non-faculty, 180 research staff and 360 PhD students. He has been appointed as the Executive Director of the university level Cyber Security Research Centre as from 1 Feb 2016. His research interests include design methodologies for high-productivity embedded systems, architectural translations of compute-intensive algorithms, computer arithmetic and high-speed techniques for vision- enabled systems. He has published more than 400 technical papers including 100 journals in IEEE Transactions, IEE proceedings and other reputed international journals. Dr Srikanthan has successfully graduated 36 graduate students and at present there are 11 PhD students under his supervision. Professor Srikanthan has personally secured R&D funds worth more than S$20 million and this includes the recent award of S$6.8m from NRF to lead a research project in cyber security as the lead PI. In 2006, he was awarded the Public Service Public Administration Medal (Bronze) by the government of Singapore for outstanding contributions to education and research in Singapore.
