As EMC's Vice President, Chief Security Officer, Dave is responsible for managing EMC's industry-leading Global Security Organization (GSO) focused on protecting the company's multi-billion dollar assets and revenue. Dave has both functional and operational responsibility for all of EMC's information, risk, crisis management, investigative, fraud and workforce security operations, tasked with establishing EMC's brand of trust with its customers and providing business protection operations worldwide.
The GSO's mission is to ensure that EMC can continue to develop, build and deliver the world's most trusted and leading information infrastructure technologies and services securely around the globe. Dave was appointed as EMC's CSO in early 2010.
Previously, Dave led EMC's Office of Information Security, responsible for protecting the global digital enterprise. He was responsible for delivering EMC's technical business operations protection programs that provide a services portfolio encompassing global security operations, enterprise security architecture, investigative support technologies, consumer and cloud security, and EMC's Critical Incident Response Center. Dave joined EMC in 2004.
Prior to joining EMC, Dave built and led security consulting organizations focused on critical infrastructure, technology, banking and healthcare verticals, where he focused on developing and delivering enterprise security programs, incident response, investigations, policy and assessment practices. Dave frequently provides testimony to the U.S. Congress and government agencies as an expert witness on corporate enterprise protection issues.
Dave brings a range of experience in information security and management to EMC that he developed over a decade of professional business protection experience from various roles in internal audit, security services development and consulting. He holds a B.S. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire in the U.K. and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
